All the cool kids are on Substack?
Blogger is so 2006.
While The Splintered Mind is still drawing about 50,000 pageviews per month through Blogger, the designer interface is getting glitchier, and traditional blog feeds seem to be mostly a thing of the past. So I’ll try cross-posting here awhile and see how it goes.
What to expect
This Substack will, for now, have all the same content as The Splintered Mind blog — that is, wide-ranging content on philosophy, psychology, science fiction, and philosophy of technology, mostly by me (a philosophy professor at U.C. Riverside) with occasional guest bloggers.
Hey, cool, Substack seems to have imported all my old (1000+) Splintered Mind posts from Blogger, so you can find them in the archive here. Check out my latest, if you like, on the moral status of alien microbes.
Happy to see you on substack Eric. You too Mike!
Just got going here recently myself. I've been building sites (and systems that build sites) for 28 years and so feel qualified to say they've done a really good job with this platform. The stats are pretty weak, but other than that thumbs up all around.
I remain alienated from academic philosophy, but not those who practice it. So here's wishing you well with this project!
Now the question will be, which site to comment on? This is newer and more modern, so seems best to do it here.
Looking forward to seeing your posts here!
