Reflections on Philosophy, Psychology, Science Fiction and Technology

by U.C. Riverside professor Eric Schwitzgebel

This substack continues my blog, The Splintered Mind, founded in 2006.

Why “The Splintered Mind”? My thought was the human mind is splintered into fragments that often fail to coordinate or cooperate very well and that blog posts themselves are splinters or fragments of thought. I no longer love the title, but after 16 years under that name, I figure I should stick with it.

If you like this content, some of my favorite blog posts and op-eds, selected from over a thousand written through 2018, then revised and updated, are collected in my book with MIT Press: A Theory of Jerks and Other Philosophical Misadventures.
